Title I - Parent Involvement Policy

Will County School District 92 values parents and community connectedness. Education succeeds best when there is a strong partnership and communication between home and school. The district will implement programs, activities, and procedures to educate and involve parents of participating Title I students.

Parental involvement means the participation of parents in regular, two-way, and meaningfulcommunication involving students academic learning and other school activities, including ensuring:

  • That parents play an integral role in assisting their child’s learning
  • That parents are encouraged to be actively involved in their child’s education at school
  • That parents are full partners in their child’s education and are included, as appropriate, in decision-making and on advisory committees to assist in the education of their child.

 

Will County School District 92 will take the following actions to distribute to parents of participating children and the local community the Parental Involvement Policy:

  • The Parent Involvement policy will be distributed to parents at the Title I parent meeting; if not in attendance, a copy will be sent home with their student
  • The policy will be posted on our web page

 

Will County School District 92 will organize an annual meeting to inform parents of the following:

  • The requirements for Title 1
  • Provide parents an opportunity to establish a system for maintaining ongoing communication among parents, teachers, and school oļ¬ƒcials.
  • Inform parents of the Parental Involvement requirements.

 

Will County School District 92 will provide information about Title I programs to parents of participating students promptly through:

  • Title I School-Parent Compact Letter
  • PowerSchool Parent Portal
  • Title I Welcome Newsletter
  • School/District Web Page
