From the Principal’s Office
As we begin any new school year, I am always very excited to see our students returning, as well as meeting all of the new families in our building.
I cannot express enough gratitude for everyone’s patience and understanding during our first few weeks. Hopefully by now, all of the necessary busing adjustments have been made. My thanks is also extended to our superintendent and district office staff for all they have done in working with our bus company and our families in order to create a safe, and timely ride home for our children. If you still have concerns, please contact our district office at 815-838-8031.
For our car riders, I remind you to be alert when using our parking lot. Always park your car and walk your child across the parking lot. No child should cross the parking lot without an adult. There is, of course, absolutely no parking for pick-up or drop off in the front parking lot. Remember to only use the North Street parking lot. As difficult as it is for parents to leave their children on the playground and wait by the sidelines, we do appreciate your cooperation. I am happy to say that we are now in a regular routine. I thank you for your effort in helping to keep our children safe.
Our first graders have already had their first lunches and I would like to remind you to pack a healthy lunch each day for them.
Our first graders have also started their GREAT program. This 7 week program is run by Officer Szmergalski from the Lockport Police Department. She works with our children to teach them about how they can keep safe.
I enjoyed meeting many of you at our snow cone social and our open house. I look forward to seeing you again at the many fun events planned for this year. To keep updated on those special days, as well as other events in the district, please visit our website at www.d92.org.
