Welcome to the Home of Oak Prairie School
Oak Prairie Junior High School is located at 15161 South Gougar Road, in an unincorporated section of Homer Township. Oak Prairie Junior High School opened its doors to students for the first time in August 2002. The school then became one of four elementary schools operating in the Will County School district 92 boundaries. At Oak Prairie, teachers enthusiastically promote academic excellence, individual responsibility and appropriate social skills. Our staff prepares students for a smooth transition to the high school level. These goals and ideas would not be possible without the professional dedication of a tireless staff. Oak Prairie Junior High School is proud to have such a staff.

To Eighth Grade Oak Prairie Student-Athletes and Their Parents:

The following link includes the criteria, forms, etc. for this year’s IESA Scholar Attitude Award.

http://www.iesa.org/citizenship/sca/nomination.asp

Please take a moment to look over this information and think of being an applicant as it’s wonderful practice for the skill of scholarship writing – something current eighth graders will be doing in four short years for college!  Completed applications are due to the IESA office my Wed., Feb. 22.  To make this deadline Oak Prairie applications need to be completed and turned into Mr. Bond no later than Fri., Feb. 3.  From there a panel made up of four teachers and one principal will determine the best representative of Oak Prairie to send to the IESA office.  All applicants will be recognized at Oak Prairie’s academic awards assembly near the end of the school year, on the Oak Prairie portion of the District 92 website, and by local newspapers.  For questions, please don’t hesitate emailing seventh grade literature/language arts teacher Kenric Bond (kbond@d92.org).

ISAT Test Results

In March of 2011, Will County School District 92 students in grades 3 through 8 were administered the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT).  The ISAT state assessment measures individual student achievement relative to the Illinois learning standards in the subject areas of reading, math and science.  Students in grades 3 through 8 took tests in reading and math.  Students in grades 4 and 7 took tests in science.

The Individual Student Report, which summarizes your child’s scores and performance levels on the ISAT, will be sent home with report cards on October 28th.  If you wish to have the results before that date, feel free to stop by Oak Prairie office to claim your copy.

If you have any further questions, please call Oak Prairie at 815.836.2724.
